A beautiful brooch with a traditional Japanese pattern and its unique meaning.

Shippō (七宝) is a wagara pattern consisting of overlapping circles that create a flower-like or star-shaped design. The name ‘shippō’ means ‘seven treasures’ and refers to the Buddhist symbolism of precious items such as gold and silver. The pattern symbolises infinite harmony, happiness and connection as the circles continue indefinitely. Shippō is often used on kimonos, ceramics and other decorative objects, highlighting positive relationships and prosperity.
